Do you have a hand out you give people when they get one of your bowls or other wood products? If so what are some of the main points you include?

Thanks,

Mine just says "This end up". My bowls are kind of artsy and the locals don't get it. :)

ROTFLMAO! :D

I poached and paraphrased the note Mike Mahoney uses which I saw on line, possibly here (try a search). My good friend has some really nice cards, which are business card size at rest, but unfold to double size, and he's printed his instructions inside. Looks nice and very helpful.

John, you just opened the door for a myriad of college, university, and regional jokes.

Bowl Care Instructions

Utility Bowl Care Instructions (some content from Mike Mahoney with permission) and Taking Care of Your Bowl attached.

Taking Care of Your Bowl is for segmented bowls, finely finished bowls, etc. that are not intended for general utility use.

I have these instructions printed on the back of a business card that I give the buyer. Front = my studio information. Back = bowl care instructions.

I go a bit into the making process. Also some about myself. I then go into the use and care of bowls to be used and pieces that will not be used. My wife buys the pre creased 8 1/2 by 11 card stock and prints both sides here at the house. I suggest you toot your own horn a small bit. A photo of you and a photo of work. With card and ink we figure maybe 75cents each. Since I deal mostly with galleries I do not put contact info on the handout. I let each gallery put in their own. And they only get one handout per piece.
