Molly Winton sent me a 1 1/2"x 8 1/2" BLM burl blank (my first) and this is what came out of it. Beautiful wood! It's 8"x 3/4", finished with Waterlox. Comments welcome.

Very nice Carole. It may have been tempting to cut a smaller diameter platter to avoid having the void in the piece but to me that is an attractive part of the platter.

Beautiful crisp lines and finish. The void and inclusion really add drama to the plate. My personal mark of favour applies here...I'd buy it for myself.
