Bubinga hollow form

Bubinga. Terribly hard to hollow. About 8" in diameter. Lacquered and buffed on wheels.
Nice work on this one Mike with a nice sheen. A couple of questions. For the lacquer do you do a lot of thin layers? How do you keep from getting a run? Also, why was this hard to hollow, because of the wood hardness? Thanks, Jeff
