Buckeye Burl Hollow Form

Buckeye Burl Hollow Form

Buckeye burl, 7 1/2" dia x 4" tall. The bead is about 1/4". There is some gorgeous figure throughout the piece, along with lots of blue, red and cream. The inclusion made things interesting. Danish oil & tung oil finish.
Thanks Gary. It's a gift for my girlfriends parents to sort of introduce them to me (they live on the opposite coast) and the world of woodturning. Hope they like it. I have another piece of this buckeye waiting for me to finish a few other projects...I can't wait to do another one of these forms.

They are going to like this one Chris. That is an interesting void. What kind of finish did you use for this series...the series of 5 you just posted?

Thanks Jeff, the finishes are as follows:
Buckeye hollow form: danish oil & tung oil
Madrone hollow form: danish oil & tung oil
camphor bowl: walnut oil
bottle stoppers & coasters: friction polish
