burly bowl

This big bad hard burl of unknown species has been begging to be bowled for some years now. I took it on as a respite from experimenting with kinetic and deconstructing multiaxis turnings. Turned out to be an unpleasant task, as you might see from the attached before pictures, but gave a pleasant result. A heavy sixteen inches diameter, seven inches high. Finished with several coats of Danish oil. Comments, reactions, critiques always welcome.

Wow, you have more nerve than I do but it turned out great. On another note, there have been times when I wished that I could add more than one photo of a piece and I didn't realize that I could do it. Did you do the composite on your computer before you uploaded it?
