Camphor & Holly Wood Hollowform

New from the studio this weekend. The hollow form was turned from a block of locally harvested camphor wood with a Holly wood cap and Mahogany Asian style finial mounted with aluminum rod.

Comments and critiques welcome and appreciated.
It's about 8 inches in diameter. The finish is lacquer (spray can).

I think I am going to make a new finial though...this one seems a touch too big...what do you think?

Well pat I wasn't going to say it - but now that you brought it up about the finial - that's what I was thinking! Maybe something that doesn't extend beyond the diameter of the vessel?
