Lady in black

Hello all,
my new "Lady in black". The height is 50cm ( 20"). Do you can identify the wood ?
The body is completely hollowed. The necks are drilled and the outside turned.
WOW!! This is remarkable! I'm very unfamiliar with European trees, but I would guess laburnum, only based on seeing a few pictures of very dark bowls. Any hints??

Yup..this proves it....wood-turners R strange! This is ONE beautiful piece! Sorry, can't help on the wood, but keep art work like this coming!!!

Hi all,
thanks for your answers. Any hints ? Think about treating with ammonia.
Jo
