Troubled Seas

This is my first real shot at woodburning other than a couple little cherries on an older piece. I wanted just the right wood for this and man, did I luck out! All the waves and background are all natural maple wood. Only the 2 colored rings and the wood burning itself were done by me. It's 15" diameter and finished with Tung Oil. I think I'll need a name for this...any ideas?
Thanks for looking and all comments welcome, Don L.
Man, you have all kinds of undiscovered talent. It looks great, Don. You had the perfect piece of wood to showcase your burning skills. Very nice indeed.

very nice cutter

Don, you are one creative turner!

You're right about the grain pattern becoming the waves and sky.....nice use of it!

Are those birds part of the grain, too?.....or did you add those with the burning?

Hi Odie! The two birds on the right I put in to match a few others that were hanging around. Hard to see in the photos. The chatoyance came out pretty good, but in person it's ridiculous.
Thanks for asking,
Don L.
