Carrying on the theme

Hi all

it has been ages since I posted in the forum.

This piece I have just finished and is carrying on my interest in various Japanese philosophies/subject.

it is 160 mm dia x around 120 mm high. Sat on a burr oak base. Textured and aged with verdigris wax.

Comments welcome.

I like it, all the elements meld nicely into the whole.

You've got a real sense of Japanese aesthetics - the still green bamboo leaves reminders that life is fleeting.

The shape, surface pattern and color - all fitting a piece done centuries ago, unearthed recently - and the evidence of its journey through time left untouched. Again - reminders of then and now - the skills and knowledge of the maker inspiring others decades or centuries later.

You've taken that inspiration - and created a piece that may inspire another - a decade or a century in the future. Another Just So piece - I'm learning to expect from you.
