What I Accomplished When I Quit TV

This bowl was selected by one of my turning clubs, A.R.T (Association of Revolutionary Turners) Massachusetts, to represent the club chapter in the AAW's 25th Anniversary Exhibit.

Specs.: Cherry bowl, 7 3/4" W x 3" H. Leaves were cut using a sharpened 1B tip woodburning pen. Stimpling done with the Presto NSK handpiece.
Very nice Donna,
I got rid of the Dish in October 10 and set up an antenna, now the only thing I watch is Netflix movies, and that's not very often. TV has really started to bore me.

Donna, I love the piece. I have looked at it several times since I saw it on another forum this morning. But I'm going nuts trying to get the hang of drawing those leaves spaced and balanced similar to the way you have them. Looks a lot simpler than it is. I don't think there is any danger I will be making an exact copy of your work any time soon. :)

@ James - I wish I could dump cable, but I get nothing where I live, even the local station in town. No antennaes work, and I still watch the news, and an occasional special.

@Chuck, it is much simpler than it looks. If you practice using a woodburning tip, you eventually can work it as well as any turning tool. It just takes practice.

Can't wait to see what else comes from the no TV approach!

Donna, yes, this is definitely a favorite for sure; I love this piece. Everything about it, texture, color, balance, shape, you name it; it's outstanding. Good choice, Kurt!
