Hi Eddie,
It is called a tilt away and it is an option for either machine. I elected not to get the 18" tailstock is light for me to handle with out any grunting. If the lathe had been the 25x28 more than likely I would have gone for the tiltway. I have a review on the lathe here. GT http://www.artbygeotroy.com/html/robust.html
