Cherry burl Hollow Form

Cherry burl Hollow Form

This one is named "Gnarly Sophisticate" because of the voids, bark inclusions and general "gnarlyness" of the cherry burl.

Topped with a maple lid [dyed brown to match the bark color] and finial. Putting a finial on this gnarly wood is akin to putting lipstick on a pig!

The form is about 8 inches in diameter, and 4-7/8" high and with the finial it stands about 9 inches tall.
I think we get the picture Roger, you had a hard time with this piece LOL.
It was worth it, a very nice piece indeed with some interesting contrasts
