A pot filled with Fall

A pot filled with Fall

This is an 11 x 8 cherry pot. I carved the leaves in deep relief and burned in the background texture. Black ink and airbrushed acrylic paint was used for the color. Oil and lacquer on the natural sections. The finial was made in three parts to insure grain strength. Although it appears delicate it is actually very sturdy. I had a great time making it but am glad its over :)
That is some incredible carving Jim not to mention the colouring, you have also left a nice balance of that Cherry showing to set it of. A realy lovely piece.

Jim:

Another absolutely gorgeous art piece, the carving in the color work so well with the natural wood. I hope you bring it to one of our meetings, I would love to see it in person.

Everything on this piece works! An incredible amount of work...
