Ambrose Maple

This Ambrose Maple bowl is 12" x 5" (305mm x 127mm) and about 3/8" (9.5mm) thick. With a down sloping undercut rim it looks thicker than it is. It is finished with Danish oil, buffed and polished with Micro-Crystalline wax. I have 30 or so, more of these rouged out and I'm really impressed with the Ambrose coloring. I don't know what particular species of Maple it is.
Beautiful piece. Try one in the other orientation and the ambrosia fingers reach for the top. Produces a stunning effect.

Tried to insert a picture of one I did 5 or 6 years ago but need to load it in my Gallery. Will try from my iPad. Not easy to do. Have not posted a photo for five years. Will try from my notebook.
