Ash vase

Ash vase

Well I call it a vase but not really big enough as it measures only 4 1/2" tall. This is the last turning of this year and is just an experiment in turning to finish a piece of green wood. It has not even been cut down for two weeks so still was very wet when turned. It may split when it has fully dried but hopefully the thin walls will let it move rather than split time will tell.
I wet sanded with oil and also applied oil as a finish.
As the Title the wood is Ash from a crutch
Derek, I really like this vase a lot. So the oil almost shines!

Well, I guess the word I meant to use was "glow". Love the chatoyance of the wood. really beautiful piece of wood and I like the form and the way you did the natural edge.
