This maple burl plate is 13 1/4" x 1 3/4". It is finished with Velvit Oil.
very nice, what is Velvit Oil, i could not find it in craft supplies cataloge or my dictionary (my dictionary is old, copyright 1971)

It is not sold through catalogs. I have used Velvit Oil for over 10 years now. It is like a Danish oil. On most woods you get a real good penetration.

seems to me danish oil even natural danish oil would have made the maple much darker, i like your velvit oil finish
