Curly Ash bowl w/ Textured Rim

Curly Ash bowl w/ Textured Rim

9" dia x 2" h This piece of ash has some of the most pronounced curl in it that I've ever seen in white ash. I chose to keep this piece simple, and just did a understated textured pattern on the rim. I am waiting to decide what to do with the other section of the board. Comments always welcome.
I truly appreciate the fact that you restrained yourself by not turning more detail into this piece than was necessary. The delicate bead along the rim and upper portion of the bowl's exterior provide a frame for the textured portion of the bowl without overpowering the entire piece. I also believe that, by allowing the grain of the wood to speak for itself, you did an excellent job on this one. What texturing technique did you use here?
