Mesquite Twist #2

Mesquite Twist #2

This vase was turned from a mesquite log slightly off-center to highlight the sapwood and bark layers. The middle and upper sections were turned with a three-point off-axis approach to provide the twist. The top section of the twist was carved to provide the effect of opened petals/leaves. Finish is Watco oil, buffed on the Beall system. Height is 9 inches
