Ring Turning

I know this is beyond the deadline but I started it the day after I finished my maple leaf. ;-)

This was a clearance slab of burl, it is some kind of Aussie species, smells like a hamster cage. Dust leaves a sour taste in mouth and it is very oily and clogs sandpaper quickly.

It had a large missing bark inclusion so not every butterfly will be perfect.
Melissa, I think you have mastered this art. Both of your ring turnings are wonderful. I would take a slice of either one for a decorative paperweight. Beautiful!

Wow, Thanks! [blushing] Coming from you that is a real compliment, YOUR work is amazing. Your recent egg is perfect. I haven't master the perfect egg or sphere yet.

Melissa,
It seemed to be a good idea to wait until after the contest to choose this as POD. Very nice!
