Small Revolution

I had the truck, my buddy had permission from the neighbor to do some cutting on his Mormon Poplar tree. This 6"x6" bowl was just a taste of what we would find. This pictures don't do it justice. This wood was harvested from a giant tree from Payson, Utah that was approximately 5 feet in diameter. The chatoyant quilted wood was found in the center 4' and allowed giant wood slabs to be harvested.

      The chatoyance is just incredible. If you dye some of the pieces, I think that the results would be well worth the effort.

      @Bill Boehme .
      Paul, Bill. Dying the poplar would be spectacular due4 to different soft/hardness I think, compared to say maple . Gretch
