Chinese elm, 14 inches tall x 12 inches diameter. Wood recycled/reclaimed from urban tree blown down in Anaheim during big windstorm last Fall.
very nice, is the biscuit thru and thru or just on the surface, i have a hf i need to redo because of crack, any tips on process
 
The butterfly keys go all the way through.

They are a deliberate homage to George Nakashima. I was going to call it: "If Nakashima had a lathe," but of course he did own a lathe, he just used it for furniture parts (as far as I know, anyway).
 
The two Dutchmen add a lot of interest, as well as way to save a nice piece.
