Summer 2008 Contest

Lidded Container. While everyone was in Richmond having fun I was forced to stay home and I had to do something to entertain myself. Turned from a small Mesquite Log it measures 3" in diameter x 8-1/2" tall. Ebony Finial. No finish applied, just buffed. I have said it before and I will say it again, Mesquite is wonderful !
Great piece! I love the shape of the vessel and especially the finial. Wonderful color and pattern in the wood. I see a tall Amish man carrying a chicken by the neck. (And I've only had one glass of wine).
