Sunken Earth

This is a 11" Bowl with a 2" rim textured and painted. It is turned from Ambrosia Maple.
I must say that I typically do not send a response to these pictures. I look at them all but just don't take the time to write a comment. This piece gives me the illusion that it is a round piece of ambrosia set on a aluminum or steel platter. It may be the way the picture was taken but I think it looks cool. Well done - sharp looking piece.

Thanks much! The rim is textured with the Sorby spiraling tool and painted with black gesso, then metalic acrylic. Final cuts made after painting to crisp up the edges.

Very great looking piece, I like the textured and colored rim definatley makes this piece stand out.
