Many thanks to Joe Landon and Chris Pytlik for the inspiration on this first attempt at dying a vessel. Other than the funnel redesign, where I added a small ebony base, this maple HF went along pretty smoothly. About 6" tall and 7.5" wide, it was sanded to 1200, dyed and lacquered. All comments welcome.
It's interesting how those funnel redesigns pop up (or down) for all of us. Your first attempt at dying is great with good transition from dye to wood. Wish I had bee there to see it done. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Ed and Hal. This was a fun experiment, and I learned alot. Hal, PM me and I will describe my process, right or wrong.

Michael, nice to hear from you again! Thanks for the comments. Hope you are well. Mark, give the dyeing a try, it was a lot of fun!

Hey Kurt ,its a shame you are the cover man because I am sure if it was someone else this piece would be in the lime light
Very nice ,I don't believe this is your first attempt at dying
Cheers

Beautiful piece Kurt. I think Joe is driving the price of dyes up.
