Troubled Seas

This is my first real shot at woodburning other than a couple little cherries on an older piece. I wanted just the right wood for this and man, did I luck out! All the waves and background are all natural maple wood. Only the 2 colored rings and the wood burning itself were done by me. It's 15" diameter and finished with Tung Oil. I think I'll need a name for this...any ideas? Thanks for looking and all comments welcome, Don L.

Great work Don. Beautiful ship and the natural waves in the wood compliments it 100%. It's like this was what the wood was meant for and you made it happen. I like it.

This piece looks perfectly executed. I love the blue ring; it suggests both sky and water.
