Thanks, I was attempting to emphasize the design around the rim, as opposed to the conventional wisdom of placing the design ring at the largest diameter of the vessel. I was experimenting with veneers, the entire neck is laminated veneer. It's funny, many people indicate this is their favorite of all my pieces.
