Walnut Bark Bowl

Walnut Bark Bowl

This is kind of a strange piece. Try to picture the bowl turned upright with the center indentation running vertical. That's how it was on the tree. It must have had some sort of trauma early on and the rest of the tree tried to grow around that area but never quite made it. You can see the way the outside bark curled around it like a ram's horn. I thought it was cool enough to try and make something out of it. About 11" long X 5" tall. Finished with tung oil and Beall buffed.
Thanks for looking and all comments welcome, Don L.
Very unusual!!! IMHO, drop a glass eye (people or critter) in the center....sure to get the eye of all (pun)!!!
