Walnut with Ebony Base

Walnut with Ebony Base

When I started this Walnut vase I was thinking about vases that I had seen before that were in stands or had legs attached. When finished the vase I had an idea of what I wanted for the stand, but not a detailed plan. I made a model out of foam core with three rings and three legs, but wasn’t really sold on it. I asked and received help from my friends over at Woodturners Unlimited designing the stand. Incorporating the suggestions and ideas they inspired this is what I came up with. The vase is 19” x 5” and is hollowed 17” deep. The stand is 11” tall and the vase with stand is 23” tall. The stand is Ebony and quilted Maple and all parts were finished with Danish oil.
Thanks for looking…Made in 2015
