Simple Maple box with insets of Padauk and Box Elder Burl. 4" h x 3" w. This was a simple and easy decoration method. I enjoyed making this box.

Here is a box 3 1/2" tall and 4" in diameter in some highly figured maple with lots of curl in varying sizes. Perhaps this would qualify as quilted maple.

Made from very dense black walnut and masir birch. The lid handle is cut to deliberately show a ying and yang symbol between the dark heart wood and lighter sap wood.

Here is a box 2" in diameter and 2 3/4" tall turned from sheoak a friend from New Zealand sent. The box has tiny flat on the bottom so it can stand.

This is the very first box I have turned in this wood. It is a bit screechy reminding me of cedar when it starts to resonate. It finished up at 2 1/4" tall and 3" in diameter. The color is quite remarkable and I hope it stays that way for a while.

This is a box elder lidded vessel that stands about 11" tall x 5.5" wide.
