This cherry hollow form had beautiful grain and color that I really began to see during turning. 4.5"H x 8.5"D and turned to less than 1/4" thickness. This gave it a nice pucker factor during turning. Sanded to 600 in and out, danish oil and buffed. Comments and critiques welcome.
This walnut hollow form with ebony finial was turned for the gift exchange at our club's Christmas party. The size is 3.5"Dx4"H and 6.5" overall height. Comments are always welcome.
This piece was inspired by the chive flower seed pod. Hundreds of these pods make up the purple globe shaped chive flower.

This is the second piece from the "dead" Cocobolo log I picked-up in Richmond. For those of you who are not familiar with the story, this log came from the mountains of central Mexico. It had fallen many years ago and was salvaged by Mitch Talcove of Tropical Exotic Hardwoods of Latin...

This piece was from a "dead" Cocobolo log I purchased at the symposium in Richmond. The log came from the mountains of central Mexico. Some of the nicest color comes from these logs.

This hollow form was turned from a Bois D Arc log which dried for over a year. The checking and pith in the blank were filled and sealed, rough turned face grain and dried for a 2 month period. The final turning was performed in April of this year. The finish for the piece was Waterlox and...

From the same log as Mulberry Lace and others.
This was a lesson on turning a sphere, which is much harder than you would think. Your eye has a hard time seeing a perfect sphere. This was another webcam project.
I left this piece heavy so it could be used...
Bradford pear, spalted and some curly figure. 5.5x 3.5. It is hollowed through the 3/8 opening. Practicing with smaller openings. I could not measure the thickness of the wall, but judging by weight, I think it is fairly thin. Finish is Waterlox. Criticism or comments are welcome.
