Gary, I tried to replicate your problem using a normal non-moderator test-ID and it kept me logged in. Specifically I went to the first link you listed:
http://www.woodturner.org/vbforum/forumdisplay.php?f=2
which takes one to the text forum threads.

Then to get to the photo area I clicked on the top left of the page:
AAW Forums
which took me to the combo page (shows pictures and links to gallery + forum).

Then to get to the photo gallery:
Then I clicked on a photo and it took me to the gallery - has "upload photos" link.
I also tried clicking on a Photo Gallery link and it took me there as well. - has "upload photos" link

Try the sequence above? Does it work for you? If not I'll examine further.

If the above sequence does work - are you asking for more links to be added to some of the pages? If so please let me know.

isn't new software fun?

Gary,

try this...visit the forum and log in. Once logged in, visit anywhere in the gallery you like. If you don't show logged in, hit the refresh button on your browser. I was able to replicate your situation this morning and this remedied the problem just fine. We'll also check into it from our side to see if Jeff tracked wet shavings into the site from his shop and clogged up the pipes.

Jeff,
Tried your senario, and I still have to log in again when I get to the photo galary.

Chris
The refresh does not work either.

A thought: My firewall keeps pretty close tabs on cookies. (right now it blocks third party cookies, expires persistant cookies at session end;
session cookies are untouched. Could the cookie handling be what's causing the 'two login required' to happen.

(Chris - I was a main-frame software specialist the last 20 years of my buisness life; and yes, new software is lots of fun)

I am unable to replicate the problem (probably because of my PhD). But Chris was able to replicate it at work. I did some research at the software source (VBulletin) and Chris will probably try a couple of things at work tomorrow. The forum at VBulletin indicated it could be several things - firewall software, cookies, user settings, and a combo of all. Unfortunately it looks like others have had similar problems, and not all of them got resolved.

The odd thing for me is that I can't seem to ever get logged out!! Even when I log out then return, it automatically logs me back in - because of the cookie.

We'll try some stuff and get back to you.
