Nothing is better than a grinding wheel that really runs true. It might take some patience to get it right but you'll thank yourself a hundred times after doing it and your sharpening skills will vastly improve. You'll also find that your tools last longer and your grinding wheel will also last longer. I think that's because sharpening is easier and more controllable so you remove less metal and consequently spend less time on the wheel.
