Preview? What Preview? I haven't seen that button on the new forum.

It's a secret and you have to know the handshake... I'll tell you the secret, but don't tell just anyone. :D

Click on "MORE OPTIONS" and then you will see all of the other options... well, actually there's only one more option ... "PREVIEW". Don't ask why or I'll be forced to make up some phony sounding story.

Actually, the "more options" also include watching the thread and receiving email notifications. Strange -- I had checked "More Options" a couple of times, but never noticed the Preview button.

OK, my iPad doesn't show those other options. When I return home next week, I'll see what my PC shows.

Hit the "More Options" button. Then the "Preview" button, and you will see your reply (and quote) as it should appear. I would like to find a "Delete" button for when I screw up! ….or maybe it will just disappear if I don't hit the "Reply to Thread" button ???

Oh, there's a big discussion somewhere about the lack of a "Cancel" button. If you start a reply, and then abandon it, it will stay in the system's memory for quite a long time and keep appearing when you go back to that particular thread. The two solutions that were thought of are (a) delete your unwanted response text and then click Post Reply (thereby replying with nothing) or (b) delet your unwanted response and stay staring at the box until the little red "Draft Saved" pop-up appears (lower right). Fun, eh?

Steve changed the time-out from 24 hours to 6 hours if you do nothing. The XenForo developers somehow can't see things from the perspective of the average forum user who just wants a simple way to back out. I also think that a Cancel button is what we need.

A shout out to John Lucas for not picking on my photography.:p The chestnut in person isn't so green. I've checked out Keith Burns' photography tutorial, and when I get closer to wanting to sell things, I'll set up a cube and some good lights (and come asking questions here!). Bowls were well-received at the meeting last night, but I was chastised for not signing them. A few months ago, I tried putting initials on the bottom of an early bowl with an engraver (have a selection of tips for it, courtesy of my husband's carving interests). The result was quite ugly and embarrassing. What to do?
I use a detailmaster wood burning pencil with a fine rounded tip. Works real well.

Jamie if these bowls are some of your first then I can't wait to see what you will turn out in the future. Truly nice bowls form and finish.
Thanks so much, Breck! When I need a boost, I go back and look at them. Lathes are idle this weekend -- I've dismantled my lumber rack (designed to hold a couple hundred BF of flat lumber, relocated several sheets of BB plywood, then putting insulation and wall board (of sorts) over the concrete block wall, and putting in a steel shelf unit with the grid-type shelves. Hoping this will also give me a bit more room for the machines that hinder access to wood (planer and jointer). Glad to say, the concrete is only on the forest-side of the shop -- all other walls are normal wood.:p
