Michael, is there a way to call up the list of quotes that are linked to us? When I was +quote-ing and got ready to insert quotes, I saw a quote in my list (from a different thread) that I had decided not to use, and it was still hanging out there.

@Michael Seufer Here's one for you. I went back to edit post #42, to tag your name. In the editing box, while placing the @(name) at the beginning, all of the text disappeared. Thinking I must have accidentally deleted it (Ctrl+A/Delete -- distant possibility) I cancelled the editing. Then I click on Edit under the post again, to start all over again. The text box was empty, as though there was a permanent memory of the empty text box. I had a similar thing happen back when we were testing the forum before release.

@Michael Seufer : and here's another, involving my tablet (Samsung Galaxy II). Normally (i.e., at other web sites and forums) if I'm typing with the virtual keyboard, and I'm done or simply need to make the keyboard leave the screen, I tap the "Back" button (the looped arrow on the tablet screen, not in the browser) and the keyboard disappears. On this forum, when I do that, it goes "Back" to the top of the responses on that page. There is no other place that behaves this way -- I can always make the keyboard disappear by using the tablet's back button. If I were to press it again, then it would truly go back. BTW -- I really like this forum, just reporting as requested, sir.:D

No, you're right. It's hard enough for me to follow a single thread much less for multiples

I think you can also select +quotes from different people and respond in only one reply. Now ain't that nice?!? Wouldn't want to get too carried away with the idea though.:)

I knew about the first part, but the SECOND one you mentioned is really neat.

EDIT: An omitted word can sure change the meaning of what I intended to say ... and if these devices are supposedly so smart, why don't they know what I meant to type?

The terminology that XenForo uses can be confusing. Instead of "Multiquote", you use "+ Quote" and instead of "Quote", it's now "Reply". Usually, we only want to quote a single post so the process is:
  1. Click ot tap on Reply in the post that you want to quote
  2. The screen automatically jumps to the editor box with the post already entered
  3. Type your reply
  4. Click or tap on the <POST REPLY> button
  5. Enjoy
Well, that's five steps, but it's the same number of steps as vBulletin.

"+ Quote" works the same way as MQ except that now you have greater flexibility in the order that you choose to insert them in your reply.
Like organic chemistry, it's all about nomenclature. But I guess that's true for just about any field. Thanks, Bill and Steve.

Andy, I'm just thanking the good Lord right now that this forum's nomenclature isn't organic chemistry!

Amen to that! I dropped out of organic chem the first time (freshman cluelessness), then after I learned how to really study, I took it again. Got a B+, but used to have dreams that I was a molecule, with all these components attached to my arms and legs.:D:D:D I say "learned how to really study" because somehow, I managed to graduate in the top 10% of my high school class and get accepted to University of California without having that skill nailed down. Got a D on my first midterm, totally freaked me out! Toooo funny now.:p

I'm sure that there are other places that behave this way ... We can't possibly be the only weird site on the net. Or maybe we're not weird ... Maybe it's most other sites that are weird. :D

Are you talking about the U-turn arrows on the virtual keyboard (that is what I see on my iPad)? I think they are Un-do and re-do. I see a circular arrow at the end of the browser's URL address bar, but that's part of the browser. That will reload the page.

Don't know from iPad -- I don't do I-anything, all Android. It's a u-turn type arrow, but not in keyboard, it's at bottom of screen next to Home symbol. Serves 2 purposes from what I've experienced: to go backwards through an app, or to "disappear" the keyboard or a menu you want to get off the screen. I surf quite a bit on the tablet at night and first thing in the morning, and this forum is the only pace it behaves that way. Makes it very difficult to post, though it'seeasier in portrait than in landscape.

How fast is the wired connection you used? As all connections are not created equal, and the same is true of WiFi if wire is not high speed then the WiFi will not be also.
The wifi signal strength was not good enough. We had to buy a 100 foot long ethernet cable, then we were having 48 MBPS. That was more than enough, perfect smooth video and great voice.
