A friend of mined gave me an old, small Grizzly lathe. It only served to whet my appetite. I have a chance to pick up a used Nova 1624-44 lathe but it has no motor. I would need to replace the motor.

My question(s) are, is this a lathe worth the trouble and expense of buying a new motor? Are accessories for a Nova lathe common to other lathes or are they specific to a Nova lathe?

Are there any points about a Nova 1624-44 lathe that I need to be aware of when I go look at the lathe?

Thanks a lot for the help.

Adrian
