I understand about the anonymity stuff, but you don't have to put your address in your profile. I put North Georgia down so ya'll have a general idea where I'm located. North Georgia is a lot of country, so my anonymity is still protected. If you really want to talk to me you can always PM me.

Anonimoosity

This whole business of "screen names" harkens back to those glory days of yesteryear when huge numbers of people had their CB's mounted and things approaching the size of the Eiffel Tower perched on their trunks (or drilled through the roof for the true believers). I heard the comment more than once that all it took to bring the male-chauvenist-pig side of an otherwise descent man out into full view was to give him a "handle" and a CB radio. The comment was well founded, but that was also long before the days of "data-mining" and ID theft.

I post under my real name which is a matter of public record. My address and phone number are listed in the AAW resource directory. I'm very easy to find which is confirmed by the amount of dead trees dropped at my door by the U.S. Postal Service each and every day of the week.

Most importantly, I take personal responsibility for what I say on this and any other board, and if someone doesn't like what I have to say, they know who it was who spake the blasphemy and are free to cross me off (or put me on) their appropriate lists.

Yo, like I'm in Joisey, awrite? Yeah, the "Attitude State."

So, ah, youz got sum kinda problum wit dat?

;)

location worries

Mouse-you gave it away. You must be in Michigan!!!! (like me). I know that those of you worried about giving a specific location are paranoid about Jeff furtively sneaking into your yard with his pick up truck in the dead of night, :D Gretch

Kurt, I've been corresponding with Mike on the fishing thing, and am really looking forward to it! Of course, if the demo does not go well, does that mean it will be a one way trip?

Oh yeah, if anyone hasn't noticed, I have had Kutztown PA in my info since I got here. I figure anyone who wants to find me can find me in the phone book. Coming here with ill intent? That's never happened, at least to the best of my knowledge. Maybe someone has, and just changed their mind once they surveyed the situation. ;) No one has even raided the burl barn or the woodpile without my blessing.

Bill

Thanks

I want to thank Bob Edwards for starting this thread. Many more people have their location listed now. (And I am only one post away from being a former N oo B. )

I got on to mapquest and checked. I thought I remembered Haslett. I've been there! Older sister, on her second husband, used to live near Dansville. Do they still make Wonch batteries in Okemos?

I guess I could say I'm on the east end of Pumpkin Ridge, but a lot of the locals don't know where that is and don't try to find it on a map! My postal address is Avoca, but people 50 miles away don't know where that is. So I think I'll just leave my location the more generic and recognizable Southwest Wisconsin. As others have observed, there's always the AAW directory and phone books if you're really interested.

They've moved from the flooding Red Cedar River area. Phone directory lists in Lansing, Mi, now. Gretch

Always thought that was a funny name for a battery. If they fail to start the tractor, all you hear is "wonch, wonch, wonch" as it turns but won't ignite.
