Wurms! Bugs!

Hello!

I would like to learn everything about the different kind of wurms and bugs which can be found in the wood.
I would like to know what they are, how they look like, their sizes, how to recognize them, what they exactly do with the wood and why and in what circumstances ... has anyone ever heard about any kind of literature on this specific item?

I suppose you would be vulnerable to the same class of insects as here in North America, if not the same species. Add the hangers-on of one poorly fumigated import container, and anything in the world might become a problem. Invasive species are doing a lot of damage here.
