    I have been experimenting with putting a bit of a flair on the top rim of one of my favourite shapes -- the small end of an egg. Gives it an ogee shape I like. Before, I was making the base of my ogee shapes too fat, without realizing it. This one is 19 inches in diameter and 6 inches deep...

    Box elder salad bowl - 12 1/2" dia. x 5 1/4" deep. Finished with walnut oil. This was a quickie shot in the bed of my truck, not the greatest locale for a photo.

    This is a large bowl, 17 inches across and deep enough to allow Caesar Salad fanatics to toss to their heart's delight. The rim also helps you hold the bowl if the hands get slightly oily.

    I have never seen such an unusual grain pattern in hard Maple. It looks almost like raindrops on a window.
