Some time ago I posted this question: I have a 7" grinder and want to run CBN wheels which come in 8". Can I convert my grinder to run the wheels? I could not get a definitive answer from anyone including Baldor's engineers. So I ordered two wheels from D-Way, Took off the guards and installed the wheels. Works great. I didn't have to modify anything. No more dust, no more wheel dressing and no more wheel replacement.

I saw you get a reply that said you would have to sacrifice the safety engineering of the factory guards. Which you have.

Have you shopped you local Borg for air delivery tin to use as both guard and dust control yet? Right angle register fixtures such as others use for the old Radial Arm Saws work nicely. I'll let you decide on the dangers using a vacuum with them continuously might pose. The Baldor at school would coast for an hour and a half with power off, I swear. Them's bearing!
