Once again, it is my turn for the TOTW. I was glad to see something that immediately got my attention above everything else. I'm a big fan of Bill Jones. He is mainly known for his work for Woodturning magazine UK. And he was the last of the Ivory turners. His chess pieces are now highly collectible and very expensive if you are lucky to find a set or even a single piece. This week's honor goes to Tom Draffen for his set of chess pieces which he titled: "White Pieces."
Turning and carving a chess set shows commitment to our craft. It is also a terrific skill-building project. Personal experience also tells me that inspires others to give it a try. Congratulations to Tom for a well executed plan. We are going to be looking forward to the black pieces and seeing a picture of the completed set. Well done.

White pieces
The white are almost done.... Last, the knights, then felt and weights.... Simple maple. First set through, having fun. Could probably finish each piece just a hair more.
