Nature's Memento: Milkweed

Nature's Memento: Milkweed. This celebrates the relationship between the monarch butterfly and the milkweed plant. The bold colors of the stylized monarch in the background seemed fitting. The butterfly is made from birch bark and a bit of metal. A huge thanks to Sally Ault and Janice Levi for their encouragement and inspiration. River birch a little over 7" dia.

Beautiful piece Linda! What are you using to get such vibrant colors?
Stunning work.
For this a combo of prisma and Faber Castell, I also add a highlight of liquitex to get a sheen on the butterflies. In the center of the flowers a little dragonfly acyclics.

Thank you
