1873 Claro Walnut Burl

Finished January 25, 2021. 9 7/8" wide, and 2 1/8" tall. This bowl blank was actually purchased in 2011, and I've been hoarding it for a long time, realizing just how exceptional this piece of wood was. (I guess there was a little fear in ruining it!) I'm glad I did, because I've made improvements to my knowledge and personal style since then. As received, it was 12% MC, and after roughing, only took 4 months to stabilize. This piece may have been kiln dried, but I'm not 100% sure about that. The seller of this wood was online for a very short time, and then disappeared. I think it was someone who only had a few pieces for sale, and might have been from his own yard. He was from Oregon. Has undercut rim. Sanded to 600gt, Danish Oil Natural, and Beale 3-step buffed.
Just a beautiful piece Odie and I really like the spalting in this piece. Well done!
