Ambrosia Maple Set 2

This cored Ambrosia Maple bowl set is going to the Empty Bowl Project this weekend as well. This set has only 3 bowls total due to a bark inclusion which prevented coring the inside bowls close enough to obtain 4 of them. The bark inclusion was preserved thoroughly with some dyed epoxy around the edges, both inside and outside of the larger bowl. You can see it in the composite picture in the rear right hand side, which really adds some character to the bowl. I could have easily cored 3 bowls out but at the time I did not want to take the chance. The grain and color of the Ambrosia Beatle really adds color and character to the bowl set, making it a one of a kind set. The size of the outside bowl is 11 diameter by 4 high and finished with Walnut Oil and wax. I do hope the set remains a set and is not broken up.
