Loon Lake

spalted Buckeye, pyrography, acrylic color, 8x3
Only a few times have I been given the pleasure of observing loons; most recently when I visited the Olympic peninsula and camped near Lake Quinault. After turning this piece of buckeye, the fungal stain depicted to my eye a lake scene. So I set to work with my burning tools completing the image.
I'm with Odie, perfect effect. I also like the green in the leaves. Well done.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate your thoughts. It is a pleasure to work on a piece of wood like this one; it spoke so easily of an idea to pursue.
