Red Maple Vase with Black and Silver Spider

Handmade by Carl Ford. This vase was turned out of maple wood harvested near my house in NY state. It is decorated with black and silver spider paint over red acrylic paint, with a nice natural rim. I love the contrast between the natural rim and painted vase. The clear finish is multiple coats of semi gloss acrylic. This piece is approximately 6-1/2" tall by 4-1/4" in diameter (4-1/4" wide) with a 3/16" wall thickness. It weights approximately 5 oz.

Carl, I love the flowing 'form' on your last three posted vase forms. And, your coloring and texturing is outstanding. It may be the angle of your posted photos -but I think your 'rims' are too heavy looking and overpowering. Just my 2ยข. :)
