This is one of my first works with woodturning, I started at the beginning of this year, I have still much to learn in this field, it's a great pleasure as well as pain for me :)
After having started turning only a few months ago, I'd say you have a lot of promise, Martin. My first attempts weren't even worth photographing!

There is going to be a lot of frustration, so get used to it!

Odie, Thank you very much for your comment, yes, frustration is rampant, but I am very fun to explore other options.

Martin,

Is that cording that you have incorporated into the base and top of your turning? If so, great idea. I really like the difference in textures that it gives you on this piece. It sets off he center section from the base very well.

Great work!

Tom

Very impressive Martin. Not sure I like the cording but it is a very interesting. It just adds a rustic look to an otherwise elegant piece. Most of all I like the finish. If you are frustrated it doesn't show in this piece. Welcome, look forward to seeing more.

Thank you very much Bob and Tom for your comments.
Yes, cording is incorporated into the base and the top of turning, this praise gives me the strength to continue to work and learn woodturning. I am glad for my welcome here.

Thats an impressive turn for a newbie Martin, quite large as well being just on 2' 0" tall.
Fabulous finish well done
Pete
