With the Christmas season coming on my family has been after me to give them a Christmas list. I've enjoyed the book about Bob Stockdale and David Ellsworth's books a great deal.

Ellsworth and Raffan

I don't think a guy can go wrong with either of these two. I have had "Ellsworth on Woodturning" for about six months and it is probably my favourite woodturning book. Next on my list to get is Ernie Conover's "The Frugal Woodturner" which was just reviewed in the AAW journal. I have three of Raffan's earlier books and they are all good.

Another on Richards new book, one of the best on the theory of how to make a good bowl I've ever read.

There's a new book from Schiffer titled "Wood Art Today 2". It's a nice book, big pictures with a little bio/artist statement with each person's work. One could do a search for it, and I have a few copies if anyone is interested.

You are right about the affiliates. There are currently at least 2 copies available new for $50 and several used at $110 +. Why the discrepancy I don't know, it is typical of Amazon. Avoid the mess and uncertainty, buy from John Jordan. (I am in no way affiliated with John Jordan.)

No worries, we have a limited supply. They have not done a good job of making the book visible. I think people will enjoy the book if they like looking at pics. There's furniture, sculpture, turning etc. Some familiar names (including moi ), some less familiar.
