Emiliano, since you do thread chasing you probably have a tool that looks a lot like that one except it doesn't have the depth markings. I have a better solution. The tool creates a space that traps ground pepper which might over the long term impart an "off" flavor. My solution is simple ... turn a wooden sleeve for the mechanism, split it in half and carve pockets to fit the tabs inside the sleeve, turn the bottom of the mill to fit the sleeve, put wood glue on the outside of the sleeve and slide everything together.

Darn, that is a good solution, and I do have my "recess" tool, looks just like it. But, Guilio called me today, he's sending me the set of tools that I need to do the pepper mills. The 4 HHS Forstner bits, a huge 1 in 12 in long drill bit, the crush grind tool and something else. I already purchased his off-center chuck, even with the shipping still cheaper than buying it here. I need to add here that I bought the tool. Thank you Bill.

I got some pepper grinder mechanisms, now I'm looking for the crush grind tool. Send me a message if you have one laying around. Willing to trade for some Koa. Aloha
