After a month wait I got my new 18/40. what a difference from my Harbor Freight lathe. I learned a lot on the HF I guess that makes you more appreciative of a decent lathe. I wad able to get it into the basement by myself in pieces. Turs really smooth. Hope I got the pictures right.

You are going to have a lot of fun with that! I can still remember how much fun it was when I stepped up, and that was 20+ years ago.

Sorry about the sideways pic. Looking forward to going after some larger segmented things. Haven't tried much green turning yet. Still on the agenda though. Thinking about rearranging the shop so I can get all the way around the lathe. Maybe make cleanup a little easier. One thing I noticed, with the motor located at the end of the headstock it blows a lot of dust out on the tailstock end. Makes quite the wind tunnel. May need to look at redirecting that flow towards the floor.

You lucky dog! That’s the lathe I’m hoping to upgrade to soon. 110 or 220?. Please give a review after you break it in!
