I'm using this lock-down in VA to do some skills training, and start a new hobby. Some time ago I purchased a model 1553 Vega with duplicator from an estate. I called the manufacturer for a manual on them both, perhaps info on how to use them; the duplicator he might have, manuals for the lathe are long gone. This model has a mechanical variable speed feature that I need some help with.

Questions:
1. Anyone have an operator manual?
2. Anyone know how to use the mechanical variable speed feature?

I had a Vega 1447 a while back, don't know if I still have the manual. Had an interesting speed change mechanism that involved a handle and idler/tension pulley as I recall---have slept a few times since then.
Have you looked at the website for vintage machines?
